What characteristics does RTV silicone rubber have?
RTV silicone rubber (room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber) is a milky white viscous liquid, formulated from components such as silicone rubber, cross-linking agent and filler. It is a solvent-free, non-corrosive one-component room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber. With a long storage period and stable performance, it can bond common metal and non-metal materials, so it is suitable for bonding and sealing between various metals, as well as between metal and non-metal materials.
It has good bonding performance. The cured product has excellent electrical insulation performance, and functions of moisture-proof and shock-proof. It is non-toxic, non-polluting and non-corrosive, with good electrical insulation, arc resistance, aging resistance and moisture resistance, as well as favorable bonding performance. It is suitable for working temperatures ranging from -60℃ to 200℃.
As a material for bonding, sealing, insulation, moisture-proofing and shock-proofing, RTV silicone rubber (room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber) is widely used in the bonding and sealing of electronic components, semiconductor materials, electronic appliances and other equipment, as well as in the waterproofing and sealing of electric heaters and electronic instruments, and the potting of electronic components. Specifically, it is applied in scenarios such as the sealing of electric heating ends, the bonding of small motor magnetic tiles and metal shells, the bonding and sealing of automobile lamps, optical instruments and lenses, the bonding of electronic instrument housings, the insulation protection of motors, and the bonding and sealing of electronic components.RTV silicone rubber (room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber) can first be cured at room temperature, then treated in a humid oven at 50~100℃ for 4~8 hours to remove low molecular substances and achieve full curing, so as to ensure the performance of the adhesive.
After use, the glue tube should be tightly capped for possible reuse.
When using this product for potting, the thickness of a single accumulation should not be too large. If it is ≥3mm, the method of layered pouring and gradual vulcanization can be adopted. The greater the thickness of the glue accumulation, the longer the complete curing time will be.
